Maundy Thursday Service and Beginning of Watch
7:30 p.m. Hand and Foot Washing and Holy Eucharist, with Stripping of the Altar The Maundy Thursday Watch begins immediately following this service, and continues overnight. Parishioners may sign up for a 30 minute or 1 hour shift to watch with Christ overnight, remembering Christ's agony in the Garden of Gethsemane. The shifts continue until the Stations of the Cross service at 12 noon on Good Friday.

Special events on this day include: Graduation Sunday, Newcomer Breakfast w/Mother Liz, and Newcomer Welcome. Newcomers are invited to have breakfast in the library between the 8 and 10:30 services, and will be welcomed in either service on this day. A Graduation Sunday breakfast celebration will also happen on this day. All are invited to come wish our high school graduates well.

Approximately 45 children had their back packs blessed at both the 8 and 10:30 services Sunday, August 5, as they prepared to go back to school . Mother Liz also called the children up for a special children's sermon. Teachers and others working with children also received a blessing. Cherub Choir resumes practice on Sunday, August 12 at 10:15 a.m. in the Sunday School wing and practices each Sunday at this time. Due to the parish retreat at Stone Mountain this weekend, there will be one service only at 9:30 a.m. There will be a Eucharist at the Lewallen Pavilion at Stone Mountain Park, in front of the campground area at 11:00 a.m. Everyone is invited to either service. There will be no Sunday School or Christian Education classes on this day.
