The Reverend Debra Metzgar Shew

The Reverend Debbie (aka Mother Debbie, Pastor Debbie, or Debbie) has most recently served as interim for St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in New Haven, CT. The Reverend Debbie was ordained by the Diocese of Atlanta in 1994, and prior experience includes service as Canon for Community Ministries with the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta, Vicar and Director of Emmaus House, and Assistant Rector of Holy Innocents in Atlanta. She holds a degree in Psychology from Davidson College, an M.Ed. in Community Counseling from Georgia State University, a Diploma in Christian Counseling from The Psychological Studies Institute, and a Masters in Divinity from The General Theological Seminary.

Debbie and her husband, David, reside in Atlanta and have four children ages 10-26. She looks forward to getting to know each of you and helping St. Matthew’s navigate this next season of the parish.
